Deputy Kremlin chief of staff Dmitry Peskov said a meeting could take place soon, but “there are no specifics yet”:

“Indeed, that discussion took place. They talked about such a meeting being possible in the near term. That was during the phone call between Putin and Trump. I cannot give you any more specifics for now.”

Zelensky had earlier told reporters that Washington proposed preliminary Ukraine–US–Russia talks in the United Arab Emirates.

Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev held a meeting with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The meeting focused on “cooperation between the U.S. and Russia and a peaceful resolution” to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Peskov said it was too early to discuss the results of Dmitriev’s trip to the United States.
