The startling decision Wednesday from the United States Court of International Trade appeared to put at least a temporary pause on many of President Trump’s wide-ranging tariffs.

A trade court on Wednesday blocked President Donald Trump’s tariffs from going into effect, ruling he overstepped his authority by imposing across-the-board duties on imports from nations that sell more to the United States than they buy.

Trump has been accused of walking back on his trade policies. Now, a federal court has struck down his “reciprocal” tariffs — the same that Trump put on hold.
