Roborock Launches New Robot Lawn Mowers at IFA 2025

Roborock, renowned for its robotic vacuum cleaners, has ventured into a new arena with the introduction of robot lawnmowers at IFA 2025. The flagship model, the RockMow Z1, boasts an all-wheel drive system capable of tackling gradients up to 80 percent, equating to approximately 38.66 degrees, reports 24brussels.

The RockMow Z1 features independent hub motors on each wheel, complemented by an independent steering motor for the front wheels, ensuring smoother turns and enhanced traction on steep surfaces. Additionally, the mower is equipped with a suspension system designed to maintain stability during operation, facilitating even cuts and allowing for blade capabilities that enable cutting within 3 cm of walls.

Incorporating a state-of-the-art navigation system, the RockMow Z1 utilizes satellite-based real-time kinematics (RTK) in conjunction with visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM), equipping it to navigate gardens effectively. According to Roborock, this model can cover up to 5,000 square meters in a single 24-hour period, and users can even customize mowing patterns and messages in their lawns via an associated app.

Alongside the Z1, the company also unveiled the RockMow S1, which offers fewer features but includes AI-powered smart mapping and can manage slopes of up to 45 percent (24.2 degrees), navigating through passages as narrow as 0.7 meters. However, it operates at a slower pace, handling up to 1,000 square meters within the same time frame.

The RockNeo Q1, designed for standard lawn upkeep, includes AI smart mapping and can cut edges up to 3 cm. It also has a unique “wildlife-friendly” feature that avoids nighttime operations to minimize disturbances to nocturnal animals. However, it’s yet to be clarified if this feature extends to the other models as well.

As of now, Roborock has not disclosed pricing details or availability dates for its new line of robotic mowers.
