Brussels Environment has launched a website to enable real-time monitoring of noise levels across the region, utilizing a network of 22 stations to continuously measure ambient noise and specific pollution from air, rail, and road traffic. This initiative aims to address the serious health consequences associated with noise pollution, such as sleep disorders, stress, and cardiovascular diseases, allowing policymakers to take informed actions to mitigate its effects, reports 24brussels.
The new Noisemonitoring website replaces the previous Webnoise site, presenting interactive results that are accessible to the public and municipalities. Users can download the data for further analysis, enhancing community engagement and awareness about their noise environment.
“Noise is not inevitable,” asserted Alain Maron, Brussels Minister for the Environment and Public Health from the green party Ecolo. Venezuela Deploys 15,000 Troops to Colombia Border Amid Rising U.S. Naval Presence
Venezuela has deployed 15,000 troops to its border with Colombia as tensions escalate with the United States, which intensifies its naval operations in the Caribbean. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello confirmed on August 25, 2025, that these forces will be stationed in the western states of Zulia and Táchira, backed by aircraft, drones, and riverine patrols. “Here, we do fight drug trafficking; here, we do fight drug cartels on all fronts,” Cabello stated, adding that authorities have intercepted 53 tonnes of drugs so far this year.
