A First Nations group has applied to halt construction of the main stadium planned for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
The state and federal governments plan to spend $3.8bn on a 63,000-seat stadium at Victoria Park in inner-city Brisbane. It will host the opening and closing ceremonies and athletics events.

Political analyst Stanley remarked, “Nawrocki will definitely want to put the government in a difficult position by presenting proposals aligned with the government’s earlier promises or policy goals, which the government has failed to deliver.”
Tusk has responded firmly to Nawrocki’s anticipated actions, asserting, “I will not allow Mr Nawrocki, once he’s sworn in as president, to politically sabotage the government.” This exchange underscores the tension between the two leaders as they navigate the political landscape together.
In addition to his tax reforms, Nawrocki has vowed to veto any legislation that he perceives as threatening Poland’s national identity or sovereignty, which may include measures discussed in the context of EU immigration policies, abortion laws, and LGBTQ+ rights.
