One person killed, says regional governor, after at least 91 drones descended on Russian capital region

At least one person is killed in the overnight attack involving at least 73 drones, local officials say.

Human-rights groups say more than 12,000 people were killed in antidrug operations between 2016 and 2022.

Russia said dozens of drones were launched at Moscow on Tuesday in what it said were “enemy” attacks, using its preferred euphemism for Ukraine, hours ahead of critical talks between US and Ukrainian officials.
