Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 30

As of the evening of December 30, 153 combat engagements occurred in the frontline. The hottest situation is in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Lyman, and Vremivka directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces launched one missile strike on Ukrainian territory, employing a single missile. They also used 674 kamikaze drones for attacks and conducted over 3,200 shelling operations targeting Ukrainian forces and settlements.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched two assaults near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

Today, Ukrainian forces neutralized 43 Russians and destroyed a tank, an artillery system, an anti-tank weapon, three vehicles, 18 UAVs, and two enemy communication systems. They also significantly damaged an artillery system and two vehicles.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance 16 times toward Ukrainian positions near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove. Currently, six clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked 19 times in Kopanky, Nadiia, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Ivanivka, and Terny. Six clashes are ongoing, while others were repelled by Ukrainian defenders.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy made one attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses near Bilohorivka but was repelled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, enemy activity resulted in ten combat clashes near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions near Shcherbynivka and in Toretsk. Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks, and eight clashes remain ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 39 times. Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have faced strong resistance in 31 instances near Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Zelene, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Shevchenko, Vovkove, Novoolenivka, and Novoyelyzavetivka. Eight assaults are still ongoing.

Russian forces are suffering significant losses. Ukrainian forces neutralized 452 Russians in this direction today, 190 of whom were killed. They also destroyed an armored combat vehicle, two enemy vehicles, an automatic grenade launcher, five communication systems, and two electronic warfare systems. Additionally, one vehicle was damaged.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Shevchenko, and Kurakhove. Ukrainian forces repelled 13 attacks, and five clashes are ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian troops countered attacks near Yantarne, Uspenivka, Vremivka, and in the directions of Kostiantynopol and Novosilka. Eleven attacks were repelled, and five are still underway.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted two assaults toward Novoandriivka but suffered losses and retreated.

In Russia’s Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also continuing their operation. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 17 enemy attacks in this direction.

Enemy’s losses

According to the General Staff, Russia has lost over 787,000 military personnel since the start of its full-scale war against Ukraine.

Over the past day, Russian forces suffered 2,010 casualties. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed seven tanks, 22 armored combat vehicles, 44 artillery systems, 31 operational-tactical UAVs, and 141 enemy vehicles.
