Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the Dec. 4 killing of UnitedHealth Group executive Brian Thompson, faces two separate sets of murder charges in state and federal court in New York. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan on Thursday charged Mangione, 26, with one count of murder through use of a firearm, one count of using a firearm silencer during a violent crime, and two counts of interstate stalking for allegedly surveilling Thompson.
Luigi Mangione had a busy Thursday, with a whirlwind two-state courthouse tour turned spectacle featuring a helicopter ride, a throng of escorts – including the mayor of New York City at one point – and new revelations of his alleged intent to “wack” an insurance company CEO.
