Elephants form protective circle amid California earthquake

People across Southern California were jolted by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake in San Diego County Monday morning that was felt from Mexico to Los Angeles. Video from the San Diego Safari Zoo shows a herd of elephants instinctively forming a circle around their young to protect them from threats. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.
